Robinson committee reviews seven revised site plans
Other Committee 2026-09-29 Part 2 · Meeting of September 29, 2026
Westford's Robinson School Building Committee reviewed revised site plans for seven building options and warned against reading too much into early cost figures. The panel voted 10-0 to approve its September 8 minutes. Member Megan pressed the design team on why priority-repair estimates for the district's three elementary schools have climbed to between $22 million and $29 million each, up from $8 million to $10 million cited roughly three years ago.
Architect Lee put a full Robinson renovation at $67.1 million and floated, then disowned, a hypothetical 38 percent state reimbursement figure: "So please don't repeat that number ever again to me or my children." The committee reviewed Robinson, Abbott and a new-construction "Farmer Way" site option, and expects to vote on an HVAC recommendation October 13.
