Board approves irrigation well for Century Aggregates

Westford Board of Health unanimously approved an irrigation well for Century Aggregates, conditional on perchlorate testing. The three-member board, with members Stephanie Granger, Joanne Belanger, and Naseem Chatiwala voting unanimously, required initial and annual testing for perchlorate concentrations below 2 ppb before the well operates, following guidance from Woodard & Curran, the town's environmental consultant overseeing contamination remediation. The board also continued reviewing draft Battery Energy Storage System regulations and deferred discussion of a proposed rodenticide ban.
