Westford's Conservation Commission closed four long-pending Kimball Farms enforcement orders and heard complaints about a role-playing group blocking public access.
Conservation · Meeting of September 9, 2026
Westford's Conservation Commission closed four long-pending Kimball Farms enforcement orders and heard complaints about a role-playing group blocking public access. Wetland scientist David Cowell and engineer Morgan Seal of Hancock Associates walked the board through DEP files 334-1446, 1459, 1500 and 1589, all approved unanimously, though a conservation restriction tied to file 1459 still needs state recording. A commission member identified as Jim said a Labor Day weekend camper group "blocked all the roads, put up tape and these markers and barriers" at Stony Brook Conservation Land, prompting a review of rental signage.
Septic designer Ted Doucette won a conditional negative determination for a $30,000-to-$35,000 replacement system near Long-Sought-For Pond, calling the existing setup "obviously a failure." The board also renewed resident Christian Hogue's archery permit through December 31, approved a 13 Forest Road septic modification, and backed a roughly $27,000 survey of the town's Hill Orchard property.
