Finance Committee Approves $17,200 for Manager Search

Westford Finance Committee approves $17,200 for a town manager search as the sitting manager departs. The panel voted 6-0 Monday to transfer the funds from its reserve account to cover a contract with Municipal Resources Incorporated, which the Select Board was set to vote on the next evening. Town Manager Kristen Lass told the committee she is "departing the town manager position at the end of September for a different position in a different municipality." A town finance official identified only as Dan reported the reserve fund's balance would drop to $22,355 after the transfer, noting a separate $60,445 request already drawn this year for wastewater compliance costs.
One member, identified only as Sunit, questioned the timing of the $17,200 request but did not oppose it. The committee also approved its August 6 meeting minutes by the same 6-0 roll call.
