The Council on Aging's July–August newsletter is now available online, giving residents a head start on summer programming, while the J.V. Fletcher Library rolls out a busy slate of youth and adult events for the weeks ahead.
TOWN HALL
The Westford Council on Aging has published its July and August 2026 newsletter, now accessible on the town website. Residents can find the full schedule of COA programs and services at westfordma.gov. (https://www.westfordma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=2692)
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The J.V. Fletcher Library — currently operating from its temporary location at 515 Groton Road while its Main Street building undergoes renovation — has a packed week ahead. Tomorrow, Thursday, June 25, two events run concurrently: a Strega Mama Storytime featuring *Strega Nona* for children and families at Roudenbush Community Center, Room 105, and a YA Summer Reading Kickoff Party at Forge Pond Beach for tweens and teens.
The library's 2026 Summer Reading theme, "Plant a Seed, Read!," runs across all age groups. An offsite "Farm on the Go" visit to Good Pickin' Farm at 5 Gould Road is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, with multiple sessions for children and families. A Homesteading Workshop on garden planning and seed starting is set for Thursday, July 23, 6–8 p.m., also at Good Pickin' Farm.
The library will be closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day — this year marking the 250th anniversary of the holiday.
