Westford's Zoning Board of Appeals weighed letting a veterinary practice take over a Carlisle Road property while keeping a separate rental unit intact. Chair Scott MacKay, Dan Britko and Jeffrey Valcourt heard from realtor Doug Walters, who represents seller Lori Stewart and prospective buyers Dr. Alexander Shalor and Dr.
Stephen Worry. Walters said the buyers want to convert the main structure at 25 Carlisle Road into a full veterinary hospital while keeping the accessory dwelling unit at 25R as a standalone rental "without an owner-occupancy condition." MacKay proposed restructuring the permit so the ADU becomes the principal residence, with the stipulation that "the garage area of the ADU can't be converted to a second ADU." Town Planner Joseph Giniewicz will draft modification language with town counsel for a vote at the board's May 20 meeting. The board also approved its March 18 minutes unanimously.
