Zoning Board · Meeting of July 15, 2026
Westford's Zoning Board of Appeals approved a tattoo studio permit and continued a contested car-sales case to August. Chair Scott MacKay's board unanimously granted Veronica Lee Sullivan a special permit for a private, appointment-only tattoo studio at 175 Littleton Road. A separate request from the Merhi family to sell up to five used cars at their 31 North Street auto repair shop hit a snag when the board found the property's repair use itself lacked an active special permit, lapsed since a 1991 decision tied to prior ownership.
Abutters Tom Kelley and Tim Hall told the board they counted "in excess of 17 vehicles" on the lot over the Fourth of July weekend. The board continued that hearing to August 19 and separately voted to recommend Andrew Spanos, Ryan Whelpley and Katherine Dorau Arnold for board seats, pending Select Board approval July 28. The meeting also marked the retirement of Vice Chair Jay Enis after more than 35 years on the board.
