Board of Health approves 4-H Fair fee variance, reviews lodging regulations

WESTFORD — The Board of Health approved a $500 food permit fee for the Middlesex County 4-H Fairgrounds. The board unanimously voted to reduce the annual permit from $1,000 to $500 for 2026, citing scheduling and re-inspection considerations. Members also advanced a revised draft of Lodging Regulations under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 111, Section 31, proposing annual licensing at $200 effective July 1, 2026, with discussion continuing on whether fees should be based on lodging type.
The board received an update on a 300-unit housing development at 219 Littleton Road, where the developer is obtaining a new wastewater discharge permit from state regulators.
