Westford cemetery board waives residency fee for longtime residents. The Board of Cemetery Commissioners unanimously approved a non-residency fee waiver for Robert and Cynthia Tierney, Westford residents for more than 50 years who relocated to a nursing facility. Commissioner Terry Stader noted Robert Tierney's military service and service on the Select Board.
The board also completed stone wall repairs at Hillside Cemetery damaged in April collapse, with new drainage to prevent future damage, and launched master planning for Pine Grove Cemetery expansion as the green burial section will reach capacity within five years.
