Conservation Trust pitches land gifts to commission
Conservation · Meeting of May 5, 2026
Westford Conservation Trust asks residents to donate land and join its all-volunteer board. Representatives of the nonprofit told the Conservation Commission the Trust directly owns a sizable share of the town's roughly 4 percent conservation land total, built largely through donations and tax-motivated gifts. They highlighted a Cider Mill Pond Trail hike tied to the historic Tadmuck Brook mill site, part of weekly April hikes run with Westford Climate Action for Earth Month.
"So always open to donations of land to continue this heritage we have for the rest of the, for future generations," one representative said. No formal votes were taken; the presentation closed with a call for volunteers and board members "of different skills."
