Westford's Conservation Commission approved a license agreement letting MassDOT access town land for the Stony Brook Road bridge rehabilitation, a move officials said avoids a multi-year special state legislation process previously required under Article 97. Acting Town Engineer Jeremy Downs said the town hopes to bid the related Colonial Drive culvert repair "within the next month or so" and finish before cold weather. The board also announced that Marilyn Frank stepped down after 24 years, including as the commission's Community Preservation Committee representative, leaving a seat open through June 26, 2028.
Members issued orders of conditions or certificates of compliance in eight separate wetlands cases, including resolving confusion over previously waived fines at 120 Main Street and tabling a certificate at 22 St. Paul Lane pending missing native tree plantings. The commission closed with a 4-0 roll call vote to enter executive session on a real estate matter.
