Joint Library Building Committee approves $1.9M furniture bid package

WESTFORD — Joint Library Building Committee approves $1.9M furniture bid package for Select Board action. The committee voted unanimously to recommend awarding furniture contracts to Creative Library Concepts for $757,860.14, Red Thread for $203,511.05 and $753,210.68, and Lexington Group for $37,380.06, with a $156,396.00 contingency preserved. The bid came in roughly $150,000 under budget.
Committee members also discussed potential construction delays of up to eight weeks related to the interface between the old and new library buildings, requesting the architect and structural engineer submit a detailed report before the February 24 Select Board meeting.
