Water Department Repairs Plain Road Main Break Thursday Night
The Westford Water Department responded to an emergency main or service break on Plain Road Thursday evening, temporarily cutting service to homes between 117 and 143 Plain Road as crews carried out repairs.
TOWN HALL
The Water Department mobilized Thursday evening, July 16, to address a main or service break on Plain Road, with residents between 117 and 143 Plain Road warned of possible temporary loss of water service during the repair work, according to the town's News Flash.
Separately, the town announced the promotion of Steven Clark to Chief Assessor, and residents are reminded that the Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) trash program has now formally begun, following reminders issued in advance of the July start date. The town's July Town Manager's Newsletter is also newly available for residents seeking a fuller monthly rundown of municipal activity. Flags at town buildings were lowered to half-staff following a national notification tied to the passing of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham. Also of note for lake-goers: Nabnasset Lake was treated Thursday for nuisance algae, with swimming discouraged until Friday, July 17.
SCHOOLS
The Robinson School Building Committee will hold a joint meeting with the Select Board, School Committee, and Finance Committee on Tuesday, July 21, continuing the collaborative effort with the Massachusetts School Building Authority to modernize, rebuild, or replace the Colonel John Robinson Elementary School. Meanwhile, the playground at Nabnasset Elementary School remains temporarily closed while construction continues on-site, the district noted.
