Westford Conservation Commission approves permits for six properties and terminates agricultural lease. The seven-member commission, led by Chair Margaret Wheeler, unanimously approved conditional determinations of applicability and work extensions for residential additions, decks, and utility work while issuing a partial certificate of compliance for Mill Park Place. Commissioners voted 7-0 to terminate the agricultural lease for Day Agricultural and Conservation Land after the farmer failed to request timely renewal and violated lease terms, according to Conservation Resource Planner Matthew Salem.
On environmental stewardship, the commission voted 7-0 to back a Community Preservation Act grant for a Forge Pond engineering study but voted 6-0, with Commissioner Frank abstaining, against funding herbicide treatment of invasive aquatic plants.
