Westford Select Board approves $406,599 in transfers, hears health insurance options. The board jointly reviewed Lockton Insurance Consultant Pat Haraden's presentation on four restructuring scenarios for the town's self-insured health plan, ranging from maintaining the current model to joining the state's Group Insurance Commission for estimated savings of $3.6 million. The board approved $396,899 in transfers from Debt Service and Workers Compensation to the Fire Department and $9,700 to Police, while the Finance Committee approved $70,427 from its reserve for school snow and ice operations.
No decisions were made on health insurance; further analysis is planned with a preferred direction targeted by September.
