Water Commissioners Approve Grove Street License Agreement

Board of Water Commissioners · Meeting of June 25, 2026

Westford Water Commissioners approved the Grove Street License Agreement after Secretary Chauncey Chu requested clarification on several sections, particularly removal of a confusing word from section 11. The board voted unanimously to accept the revised agreement (3-0-0) but rejected a separate motion to record the documents with the Registry of Deeds (1-2-0). The commissioners also granted water bill abatements for residents at 43R Concord Road and 77 Plain Road, both unanimous votes (3-0-0 each).

A study presented to the board showed that a proposed 300-unit development at 219 Littleton Road would require a net increase of 21,000 gallons of water per day, prompting Superintendent Mark Warren to note concerns about water source adequacy during irrigation season.
