Westford Select Board backs 21 of 22 town warrant articles.

Westford Select Board recommends 21 of 22 articles for March 28 annual town meeting. Vice Chair Chris Barrett and board members unanimously backed the $143.9 million fiscal 2027 operating budget and $6.3 million in capital appropriations, though they recommended dismissal of a $1 million pedestrian safety project on Pleasant Street and Patten Road. The board also unanimously approved a regulatory agreement for Abbot Mill, allowing 35 affordable-rate apartment units to count toward the town's subsidized housing inventory for the first time since 2005.
Chair G. Thomas Clay, who participated remotely at start of the meeting, joined in person at 7:39 p.m. Town Manager Kristen Las announced a state grant award to the 35 Town Farm Road Task Force and Choice Housing and noted that Lavallee Brensinger Architects was selected as designer for Robinson School.
