Commission Approves Amended Order for Power Transmission Maintenance

Conservation Commission · Meeting of June 24, 2026

Westford Conservation Commission approved an amended transmission line maintenance order with revised winter-operations language. The commission voted 5-1 to issue the Order of Conditions for New England Power Company's K137E/L138E/337 line work, with Jim Gozzo opposing, after accepting language changes allowing two-month advance notification instead of seeking permission for scheduled work. The commission also approved minor modifications to two ongoing wetland and stormwater projects, issued a Certificate of Compliance for retaining wall work, and removed CSX Railways from an enforcement monitoring list after the company's compliance with right-of-way spraying requests.

Three public hearings and one license-agreement discussion were continued to July 8.
